Cordelia Lieberman Sotelo MD

My name is Cordelia Lieberman Sotelo and I have been a physician serving Long Beach since 2006. I grew up in Los Angeles, and then went on to complete my pre-medical undergraduate requirements at UC Berkeley, where I was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. I then obtained my medical degree from the UCLA-David Geffen School of Medicine, where I was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.  After finishing my residency at Long Beach Memorial and becoming Board-Certified in Family Medicine in 2009, I joined Family Healthcare of Long Beach, which later became a part of Optum.

Hi! I ´m
Dr. Sotelo.
Your personal doctor at
New Cadence.

Over the 15 years at my previous office, the patients I cared for saw significant changes in the delivery of healthcare related to the insurance-based healthcare system. They dealt with call centers and overwhelming barriers to access timely appointments or even answers to quick medical questions, and they experienced the often arbitrary rules of what can or can’t be asked at a routine medical visit.

Visits were much shorter than desirable for both physician and patient alike. My patients and I were frustrated by the very same loss of direct care between doctor and patient.

For these reasons, I decided to create a different type of medical practice that’s based on membership. Members of my practice will pay monthly fees to invest in healthcare services that plans cannot deliver. And in return I will deliver those extraordinary services as their doctor.  We provide annual and follow-up routine exams detached from medical necessity aimed at optimizing your healthcare, with enhanced electronic communication support toward those exams achieving more effective prevention, patient health education and health management. With your investment in healthcare services well beyond plan coverage, and with my practice able to detach from insurance reimbursement dependence (avoiding insurance time/resource restrictions), we can help a smaller number of patients achieve a superior care experience.
